On March 23rd, the New York-based designer Brandon Maxwell announced on Instagram that he will be giving away wedding dresses to three lucky brides, who due to the economic consequences of the recent outbreak, can’t afford to buy a gown on their own.

Brandon Maxell is a 35-year-old designer, known for dressing celebrities and royals such as Lady Gaga, Michelle Obama, Dakota Johnson, and the former Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle.

Helping Out The Brides

Maxwell shared an Instagram post where he asked brides to share their story – whether it’s in a video, picture or poem form, they had the creative freedom to express themselves in any way they wanted to. He requested the brides to add any extra details of their wedding, like the date and more. The lucky winners were to receive the dresses by April 1st, according to the Instagram post.

Maxwell recently posted a preview on his Youtube channel where he walks his viewers through the process of designing his best friend’s wedding gown, which also featured the lucky brides who were excited to get their own. The pandemic has affected us all and everything had to be put on hold, including weddings. Thanks to him, brides will now be able to cross out these items of a list of financial burdens.
