Anthropologie has recently launched its new curve collection and, as with all of their clothing, it truly is top notch. The line includes size 16W through 26W and is the most inclusive line from the brand yet. The line is called APlus by Anthropologie and it has some of the hottest Spring trends and colors. There are pieces with bright colors, fun florals, and soft, seasonal textures perfect for the warm weather.

Fashion as a whole is becoming more and more inclusive for people of all styles and sizes, and Anthropologie is just the latest to hop on board. After all, what do they have to lose by also catering to a curvier clientele? Anthropologie has been a popular clothing brand for a long time and this will only make them more popular with a new crowd of women.
In March, the line launched online and in 10 Anthropologie stores across the United States and Canada, and with success, will hopefully be available in many more branches in the near future.
Unlike some plus size clothing lines, which are made differently than a brand’s “normal” sized clothing, Anthropologie promises to keep its same cool and classy vibes and feature the same styles, fabrics, and creative flare as the rest of their clothing. In other words, the plus size line will be separate but equal, ensuring that women of all sizes can enjoy their fashionable clothing.

Also unlike many other plus size lines, rather than starting with a few pieces and slowly rolling out, the line premiered with 120 styles! These pieces include casual and fancier dresses, skirts, pants, jackets, tops, and more.
Prices start at just $48 and don’t go above $260 – keeping in line with most Anthropologie clothing. While some brands may have the philosophy that bigger women should have to pay more because their clothing uses more material, this clearly isn’t the case here.
40 Ways People Made the Most Out of Outdated Clothes

Over time, our clothing becomes less and less attractive to us, until one day they’re officially outdated and unwanted. The obvious decision at this point is to either give them away or even toss them out but we are suggesting an alternative — upcycle your clothes! Basically, this means that you choose to revamp your old clothes into a new and improved version. Below, we have found some creative examples of what you can do!
Your Newly-Laced Jeans
While nothing is better than a basic pair of jeans, after time your trusty ones begin to wash out and fade in color. Instead of chucking those perfectly good-quality jeans, you can get creative with some DIY magic. All you need for this revamp is some spray paint and lace material.

Now, you simply place the material where you want the pattern to be and spray away. If you choose to add the pattern all over your pants, your end result will be newly-laced jeans. How fashion-forward!
The T-Shirt Sleeve Upgrade
While t-shirts are a closet essential, they are often so plain that you end up looking like every other person. In that event, it’s time to upcycle your t-shirt by getting innovative with your scissors. Before you start cutting, make sure that the scissors have a sharp blade, or else you’ll end up ruining the top altogether.

As pictured here, you can cut open the sleeves and then tie the pieces together into a nice bow, which creates a whole new effect. Your boring t-shirt just became cool!
An Upcycled Headband
Headbands are a great and underrated accessory that can be styled for day-to-night. If in the case that you don’t have a headband or just want to get rid of an old tee, we have the perfect solution.

Simply take your t-shirt, cut it into even strips, and create your headband based on your pattern preference. Some girls like a plain band, while others like it layered and plaited like in the picture here. It’s as simple as plaiting your own hair!
Your Work Shirt No More
While work shirts are imperative for formal events, its secret purpose will probably come as a total surprise! Little did we all know that our shirt material can easily be used as fabric for a baby’s clothes.

The proof is in the pudding with this picture, which demonstrates how a classic work shirt was transformed into a baby girl’s sweet dress. Plus, with that added detailing of the painted bird, it looks so professional it could be hung in a high-end baby shop.
From Granny’s Frock to a Cute Dress
As women, we all have those outdated dresses sitting somewhere in the back of our closets. Generally, we keep them hidden, chuck them in the garbage or even give them away but we promote another solution and that is to renovate your olden-day dress into a modern-day style.

As clearly seen here, that’s exactly what this woman did and the end results show a major transformation — from a frumpy and unflattering long frock to a cute, sleeveless dress.
From Rags to Rugs
Most females have extra clothing pieces hanging around from that time we shortened that one dress or tried to cut our tee with scissors but failed miserably. Oftentimes, these extra pieces are deemed useless and even worthy of throwing in the trash — until now that is.

A creative woman took it upon herself to turn these clothing rags into a beautifully patterned rug. We sure do love the detailing and concept behind this rug but not as much as her fluffy four-legged pal.
Who Knew Jeans Were So Versatile
If in the case you tried to upcycle your jeans by cutting them or adding new designs and it didn’t turn out as planned, don’t panic as we have a back-up plan. The jean material can be used for a variety of purposes due to its sturdiness.

For example, you can make holders out of them and we must say, if you do decide to take this route, you’ll own the most fashionable ones out there. Plus, you can get creative with what you choose to place inside.
Jersey Girl it Up
Jerseys can be used for a multitude of items. For example, as shown, you can convert your jersey sweater to leg warmers, a scarf, or even a Blair Waldorf-inspired headband. So, we hope you gather from this that no matter how old your sweater is, there is no reason to toss it!

When it comes to deciding what to do with your jersey, just think about what you will get the best wear out of? And, if you’re an old Gossip Girl fan, the decision is easy.
From Dowdy to Fabulous
If in the event that a family member or friend passes down an outfit that is far too big for you, there is actually a lot that can be done about this. Besides just altering the fit, you can also adapt the style if the look is not for you.

Just check out what this creative woman did with the oversized outfit she received. She now has an unrecognizable, formal, pencil skirt-cut dress that is perfect for any smart occasion. That’s some genius upcycling!
T-Shirt Transformation
While we do need our basic tees, if you’re feeling like changing it up, the creative options here are endless. Just see the crazy transformation here of this blue t-shirt to the eclectic new skirt it became. And surprisingly, this isn’t even difficult to do.

You just need a good pair of scissors, creative confidence, and some patience because it’s a time-consuming procedure. However, it’s totally worth it if you end up with a skirt result like this — and it even has pockets!
The Blouse Alteration of a Lifetime
When a blouse looks frumpy, often we feel that the chances of fixing it for the better are not in our favor but in actuality, there is hope! This before and after transformation proves to all the doubters out there that with the right alterations and styling, your old blouse has a new life.

Not only is the outcome a totally different look but it even has a mini peplum cut to cinch in that waist of yours and flatter your curves.
Your T-Shirt Just Became an Accessory
While upgrading your tee with cuts adds a new feel, you can take it one step further and change its purpose altogether. For the courageous dressers out there, try turning your t-shirt into a fashionable necklace by simply cutting it up and layering it around your neck.

Plus, if you want to look extra fabulous, you can add badges, beads, or some sparkle to really make it your own. This necklace-scarf is the creation you didn’t even know that you wanted!
Halterneck it Up
If you’re in the mood to revamp your t-shirt into something a bit more formal, then we have the perfect upcycle idea for you. All you need to do is turn your tee inside out, grab sewing tape, and a good pair of sewing scissors.

With these tools, you can measure the sleeves of your shirt and proceed to cut them off. After that quick alteration, you’ll be left with a halter-neck top that’s perfect for going out in.
Oversized Tee Leveled Up
We all have those oversized shirts that often are so big on us that we usually end up just wearing them around the house or to sleep in. While we’re totally on board with that, if you’re feeling daring and creative, we have a suggestion for you.

Alter the massive tee by shortening the hem and cutting off the neck collar. Your end result will be a new and improved top that is versatile to wear at home or even out and about. You’re welcome!
A Handy Bracelet
While having a chunky bracelet is a nice accessory for our wrists, there’s a lot more you can do with your charms. As seen in the picture, this woman deconstructed her outdated bracelet, stripped it for parts, and used the single charms as pendants for her new necklace.

While both the bracelet and necklace look fashionable, we are giving extra credits to the necklace for its upcycling creativity. If in the event that you’re feeling courageous too, try getting savvy with your old jewelry.
Mix it Up
This next upcycle fashion idea requires no alterations or sewing tools but the end result is a whole new look. While there is nothing wrong with the classic black long-sleeve polo-neck, it can look a little dull.

So, this woman thought that all through and decided to layer her black polo-neck with a flowy everyday dress on top. By merely adding this extra layer to her outfit, she has a whole new look going on and we’re so into it!
When Your Sweater Becomes a Skirt
While we know by now that we can alter tops and sweaters into whatever our hearts desire, this next upcycle was still pleasantly surprising to us, as the designer behind this creation used her sweater material to construct her mini skirt.

She strategically used shoe-lace to make a fashionable slit on the side that compensated for the sweater not properly fitting around her body. How genius? We are awarding her with a medal in upcycled fashion.
Dress it Down
While a little black dress is always a good idea, sometimes it can be a struggle trying to make it work from day to night. We can try adding a jean jacket or blazer but that doesn’t really make it more day-appropriate.

This woman thought this issue through and simply added a pull-over sweater as the solution. Now, her little black dress looks like a pencil skirt under her sweater and if she wants a night-look, she can just remove the pull-over. Simple yet smart!
Shirt Today, Bag Tomorrow
As we have already discovered, there are just about no limits to what we can do with a formal shirt. From using the material to create new kinds of tees, baby clothes, or even a shopping bag like seen here.

We are obsessing over this alteration because these fabric bags are so useful for everyday activities. Plus, you can use them for grocery shopping. So, now you can look fashionable by upcycling your clothes and help the environment all at once!
From Fashion to Furniture Cushions
While knitted sweaters are a great essential for winter, it has a whole other purpose that might come as a surprise. Your warm sweater can also be used as fabric for a cushion cover and might we say, it looks so sleek that it deserves an Architectural Digest feature.

So, the next time you do a closet clean-out, try sourcing any old knitted sweaters that you no longer wear as much. You could end up using it a lot more if it was a form of your home decor.
A Jean Make-Over
If you’re feeling adventurous with your old jeans, we have the perfect upcycle idea for you. All you need for this DIY project is a highlighter and scissors. Start by making mini holes in your jeans and then simply color in the rips with your colored pen.

You can choose whatever color your heart desires but we’re loving this pink highlighter. The end result is a totally revamped pair of retro jeans that give you that extra splash of color.
The Puffer Jacket Fix
While a warm puffer is a great winter staple, over time they tend to fade in color and lose their puffiness. If in case this happens to you, don’t toss it away or try to alter it into a blanket. Simply use it as an under-layer for your winter outfit.

As seen in the picture, this woman wore it underneath her coat and it actually looks super stylish.
A T-Shirt Blanket
We all have those large tees with the weirdly-wonderful designs but due to their loud colors and unflattering fit, they often end up being worn to just roam around the house in.

We think that this latest upcycle is pure genius but it does require some sewing skills and a good amount of patience. If you can weather through that design storm, the end result is an uber cool and uniquely patterned blanket comforter.
Old-Fashioned Dress Make-Over
While the original granny frock here looked like there was no room for improvement, the end result proved otherwise. Even when there’s little potential insight, if you have the vision and determination, you’ll surprise yourself with what you can do.

From what we can see, the woman simply cut off the outdated neckline, shortened the dress, added a belt using the discarded fabric, and removed the buttons. Now, this old-fashioned number looks like a stylish, on-the-go, work-appropriate dress.
Your New Shirt Two-Piece
The classic work shirt has been transformed yet again and this time the final outcome produced not one but two pieces! If you’re feeling that your shirt has had its day, grab a sewing kit and some scissors because we have a DIY design adventure planned for you.

While the transformation process can be long and tedious, just look at the results! For this super cute two-piece to wear day-to-night, it’s totally worth it.
A Tropical Attire Upgrade
This frumpy frock was in need of some serious tender loving care and that’s exactly what this woman gave to it. The new design is a flattering, cute, and ready-to-wear breath of fresh air. Plus, adding that belt for a cinch in the waist was a smart move.

The outfit, which is fit for a vacation, is perfectly completed with the added flower detailing in her hair and casual black wedge heels. All this woman needs now is a plane ticket to a tropical island.
An Unrecognizable Result
It’s hard to imagine that a plain black t-shirt can be transformed into a top worthy of wearing out on a date. However, this mission impossible was completed by a woman who wanted to upscale her old tee.

By merely cutting the sleeves out and altering the neckline, the result is a lovely black halterneck. This top would go well with a pair of sleek black pants. And, if you’re feeling extra daring, we suggest wearing the top with a pair of leather leggings.
The Denim Shirt Fix
Light-washed denim shirts constantly come in and out of fashion trends, but when it’s in the off-season, we have the answer for you. Provided the weather is chilly enough, simply wear the shirt under your sweater and the blue-collar will elegantly stick out to give you that added fashion statement.

Also, that baby blue color will make anyone’s eyes pop. The woman here has added a coat over the sweater to complete the look.
Business Chic
While a casual suit is a great outfit for work or other formal occasions, like most things in life, they lose their shine over time. This is where the art of upcycling comes into play because the quality of suit material can be well-adapted into other clothing pieces.

For example — a pencil skirt, shirt, or even a fitted dress as seen here. While the transition is pretty radical, we’re very impressed by the results.
Changing the Look
Sometimes all an article of clothing needs is to be paired with a different outfit and all of a sudden, it’s a much better look. That was exactly the case for this classic trench coat, which wasn’t living up to its full potential in the original outfit.

All the stylish woman did was add a sweater to her shoulders and change up the skirt, which brought a new and improved flow to the overall outfit.
Same, Same But Very Different
Sometimes the upcycled transformation of an item of clothing is so drastic, it’s beyond recognition. We celebrate these fashion makeovers and here is an example of a well-executed one. This baggy dark green dress was a total nightmare prior to its revamp.

Not only was it unflattering but it wasn’t fit for any occasion. Now, the end result is a complimentary, ready-to-wear dress that can be styled easily to rock wherever you go. This is a revamp done right!
How You Pair Your Jeans
Sometimes your go-to jeans don’t require any alterations but just a simple styling revamp to leave you with a fresh new look. For example, by pairing your jeans with a turtleneck like pictured here, the outfit appears comfy but quite dull and lifeless.

Whereas, in the second picture, merely replacing the turtleneck with a flowing blouse dress, creates a more flowy and relaxed look. We are totally feeling the difference here.
T-Shirt Creativity Starter Pack
The art of t-shirt revamping is a specialized procedure. While you may only need a pair of scissors to physically make the change, a lot goes into the planning.

For example, as shown here, this woman chose to cut eclectic heart designs into her tops and executed it so professionally that most people wouldn’t even register the tees have been altered. So in summary, there’s a method to the madness that is upcycling. Remember to plan your designs before taking action!
Job Well Done
When looking at the original rose-patterned granny dress that this woman decided to alter, we strongly believed that no matter the alteration, nothing was going to change that ugly pattern. However, we were wrong.

The adorable and ready-to-wear result shown here is pretty mind-boggling. Not only did she fix the unflattering cut of the dress but she somehow managed to make that rose print look fashionable. Job well done to this fashionista!
The Transformation You Didn’t Know You Needed
When we upcycle our clothing, it’s because the item is looking outdated or in need of a change. However, this is not always the case. As you can clearly see here, there was nothing wrong with the original printed work pants but after viewing their transformation, we totally get it.

Now, the new printed dress is a cut above the pant-look and ready to be rocked for just about any occasion. Sometimes fixing something even when it’s not broken, is the move.
Too Cute to Handle
That instinctive and creative reign to upcycle and revamp your clothes can come to those of all ages. Just take this adorable, little designer, for instance. She was able to transform this baggy and ill-fitted frock into a stylish summer dress with a matching sun hat.

The key ingredient behind this successful recipe was the vision. You need that — along with determination, dedication, and of course, help from someone who knows how to sew. How cute is the result? We’re obsessed!
The Frumpy Shirt That Just Became Chic
This outdated and oversized baby pink shirt at first glance looked like a hand-me-down that was worthy of a trash throw. However, after seeing this drastic transformation, we are once again blown away.

The once frumpy shirt is now a work-suitable blouse and we are loving the big bow detailing. Huge congratulations to the visionary female that undertook this project. While we have no doubts it came with challenges, this new chic shirt is another level of stylish.
Mission Impossible
The original dress prior to its upcycling was a pretty simple tent dress. While the lace detailing looked nice, the fit was not flattering. The dress’s owner thought this through and transformed it into the cutest long-sleeve blouse that appears to be very flattering.

Due to the natural flow of the design, she chose to shorten the length of the item so that it could be paired with a high-waisted bottom. She might be a natural-born designer because her new blouse deserves to be mass-produced.
Another Shirt Upcycle
While the polka-dot formal shirt is perfectly fine, it’s most definitely not flattering. In order to achieve that, the shirt required some DIY care, which is exactly what this woman gave to it. She decided to cut off the sleeves and shorten the shirt’s length, and in doing so, she created a new and improved blouse.

Not only is her new item work-appropriate but it would also pair well for other formal events. How’s that for a versatile upcycle?
The Importance of Styling
While the before version of this green sweater looks frumpy and uncomplimentary, surprisingly all this upcycle took was a change in styling. By simply changing the pencil skirt and black tights in favor of these boot-cut jeans, the sweater leveled up by a few points.

So, it’s important to consider re-styling how you wish to wear an item before deciding to revamp it. While it’s an easy change, it can make all the difference as clearly seen here.
