Zsa Zsa Gabor was born on February 6th, 1917 in Budapest, Hungary, and was first known as Sari Gabor. She was one of three sisters; one of them was the other famous, Gabor, Eva, but all of them became famous in the end.

Zsa Zsa went to a boarding school in Switzerland, and at a very young age, she competed in the Miss Hungary beauty competition in 1933. Unfortunately, she was still too young at that time and was disqualified for that reason.

This all happened after she was discovered by Richard Tauber, who provided her with the first steps to becoming a celebrity. At 19, she was crowned Miss Hungary, which started her meteoric rise to fame that just kept going.

Coming to America

With all the drama brewing in Europe around 1941 and being born of Jewish ancestry, she decided to immigrate to America. So, at the age of 24, Zsa Zsa and her sisters moved to the USA while their mother followed three years later.
