You know that when it’s fashion giant Versace’s turn to rule the runway, they do it with panache and a whole lot of glamor. The Fall Winter 2023 runway show for the brand was a star-studded event, as is expected of the fashion house. From celebrity faces to a showcase like no other, the night was truly one to remember.
The Show
The fashion giant had originally scheduled its Fall Winter ’23 Runway Show in LA for March 10th to kick off the Oscars weekend glamorously. However, keeping in mind the unfortunate weather that has been haunting the southern California coast for some time now, Donatella Versace changed the date to Thursday, March 9th. Some of the biggest names to attend were Elton John, Dua Lipa, Demi Moore, Rumer Willis, Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sanchez, Lil Nas X, Lucien Laviscount and Channing Tatum, Cher, and Pamela Anderson.
The Runway Collection
The runway also gave strong competition to the front row, with top models like Gigi Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, and Kendall Jenner walking the ramp for the esteemed label. As for the clothes, as usual, the brand packed a punch. Some dominating clothes on the runway included unique opera gloves, equal parts sophisticated and sultry, Medusa-inspired stilettos, and some suave and sharp blazers.
Versace and Hollywood
This star-studded night isn’t really surprising as Hollywood has always been in close association with the brand. Be it Jennifer Lopez in the ’90s or Lil Nas X and Dua Lipa more recently, the most well-known public figures coming out of tinsel town have been affiliated with or even, at times, given their aesthetic by the brand. The strength and confidence of the elite clientele of the brand are also clearly noted through the pictures from the countless runway shows that it has hosted.
The Best Red Carpet Looks From the 2020 VMAs
The 2020 VMAs were unlike anything we’re used to. With social distancing in full swing and face masks aplenty, it was certainly a strange and unusual affair. However, one thing this year’s awards ceremony didn’t miss out on was the red carpet looks, as it seems as though our favorite celebs have used quarantine to up their wardrobes and to pick out the best looks we’ve seen all year.
Joey King
As the star of The Kissing Booth, Joey King was the woman of the hour when she made her way down the MTV VMAs red carpet. This floral gown with matching shoes suited her perfectly, and her straight hair and chunky accessories finished the outfit off nicely.
Nicole Richie
With a career in fashion behind her, we always expect Nicole Richie to bring the goods – and that’s certainly what she did this year. This lime green ensemble had everything from ruffles to a long train, and she absolutely rocked it. Who said that you can’t wear lime green on the red carpet?
Machine Gun Kelly
We love it when people go bold on the red carpet, and Machine Gun Kelly definitely took our breath away when he walked in front of the cameras. In this hot pink ensemble, he effortlessly carried his jacket over his shoulder to show off his tailored pants, the sleeveless roll-neck, and his pearls.
Sofia Carlson
While many people went for the more wild and wacky attempt at the red carpet look, Sofia Carlson looked as chic as anything. This beautiful red gown looked stunning with the peplum ruffles and the flowing fabric – and she kept things pretty simple with her hair and accessories to really make the dress pop. There’s no doubt that it did that.
The VMA awards always bring out some seriously cool styles, and while this year’s awards were a little different, the fashion was still on point.
