In an interview with Elle, she stated, “I’ve never been with anyone that’s not a boyfriend. If I spend time with a man, it’s because there’s somebody that I know well who has been a friend for a while.”

It was noted that, although it had been six weeks since her wedding, she wasn’t interested in sharing much. According to the actress herself, she “can be outgoing, but I’m also very private.”

Whilst Lively and Reynolds’ first child wasn’t due until January 2015, a source close to the couple announced that Lively had actually given birth early in late December in Westchester Medical Center, New York. The source told UsWeekly, “The baby came early but everyone is happy and healthy. The Bedford house is all prepared. They’re going to stay up there for the baby’s first days.”

A tweet allegedly from a worker in the hospital seemed to reveal the couple’s daughter was called Violet, however, this was later revealed to be false. Instead, their daughter was named James after Reynolds’ father who had recently passed away.

Whilst news may have leaked from an anonymous source that the couple had welcomed their firstborn into the world, not everyone in their immediate circle knew of the new arrival. In particular, the baby’s godmother and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-star — Amber Tamblyn — was completely unaware.

She had arrived at the Lively/Reynolds household after Lively texted her about wallpaper for her redesign, only to find out that Lively had already given birth. Tamblyn later stated that she had been tricked, but was glad to see her new goddaughter. Such a special moment!

After three long months, fans finally found out the name of Lively and Reynolds’ first child together. During an interview on NBC’s Today show, Reynolds revealed the unique name for his firstborn daughter.

Just 16 months after their first child, it is revealed by US Weekly that Lively and Reynolds were expecting their second child. Lively was spotted covering her growing bump on the set of her newest movie, The Shallows.

Although the couple never confirmed the news themselves, an inside source confirmed on behalf of the couple stating that both Lively and Reynolds were “absolutely thrilled.” In September 2016, the couple welcomed their second child in a hospital in Manhatten. UsWeekly later reported that they had named their second daughter Inez Reynolds.

Despite the couple wanting to keep the gender of their second-born under wraps, it seemed as though the lack of sleep had gotten to Reynolds. During his interview on Conan, he had admitted that the interview was a way for him to get out of the house confessing that “two kids under two is tough!”
