The 40+ Most Iconic Celebrity Halloween Costumes

Instagram // @rebelwilson

Halloween gives us all a chance to become something we’re not. As the main part of the holiday is to don a costume and become someone else, the possibilities are endless. The benefit of being rich is that you have the money to really go all out. From Harry Styles as Dorothy to Nicky Hilton as her own sister, these are some of the most iconic celebrity Halloween costumes.

Harry Styles Channels Rocketman

Elton John has always been known for his flamboyant costumes. He’s a man who isn’t afraid to express himself and to dress up in whatever way he sees fit. So, it’s not surprising that other celebrities would channel that energy on Halloween.

Getty Images for Casamigos // Photo by Kevin Mazur

Harry Styles wore a version of the sparkly Dodgers uniform that Elton John wore when he performed at Dodger Stadium, and topped it off with fabulous gemstone glasses. We love it when men pull off some sparkle.

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Princess Peach

If you’re a fan of teenage coming-of-age television, then you have to watch Netflix’s Never Have I Ever. Maitreyi Ramakrishna stars as young Devi, who hilariously has to navigate life as a teenager with some massive crushes.

Instagram // @maitreyiramakrishnan

On Halloween, she stepped away from portraying Devi and went for an iconic video game character — Princess Peach from the Mario Bros games. It’s a perfect way to live out your princess dreams without going the old Disney route, as many do.

Kendall Jenner as a Fembot

Kendall Jenner is a queen when it comes to iconic fashion, and that power extends to her Halloween costumes. In the Austin Powers movie series and The Bionic Woman, fembots refer to female robots dressed in provocative outfits.

Getty Images for Casamigos // Photo by Kevin Mazur

While we doubt Kendall Jenner has actual weapons in the same place that fembots do, she pulls off the look really well while still looking classy. She also looks great with blonde hair, which is a hair color that isn’t flattering on everyone.

Lupita Nyong’o as Dionne Davenport

Clueless is more than just a cheesy ‘90s film. It inspired a lot of fashion trends at the time, as well as gave us quotable lines like “As if!” and calling someone “ensemble-y challenged.” To this day, people still recreate those looks.

Facebook // Lupita Nyong’o

Lupita Nyong’o channeled Dionne Davenport one Halloween, and she absolutely rocked the plaid and silly hats. Our favorite part, though, is the massive phone. Thank goodness we don’t have to carry those clunky things around anymore.

Alexa Chung as Plastic Mermaid

Alexa Chung is a lot of things. She writes, she models, she has designed fashion, she blogs, and she’s a television presenter. The British personality also apparently likes to use her Halloween costumes for activism, like this “plastic mermaid.”

Twitter // @alexachungdaiIy

At first glance, she’s just a mermaid, like any other person who dresses up like one. But the bag she’s holding, made of plastic and full of plastic, tells a different story. It’s a clever commentary on the state of the planet’s oceans and how out-of-hand plastic pollution has gotten.

Sophie, Joe, and Lizzie

Ask just about any woman in her late 20s or early 30s if she watched The Lizzie McGuire Movie, and she’ll likely gush over how it was such an iconic part of her childhood. So, who wouldn’t love nods to it on Halloween?

Twitter // @LeighSophiet

Sophie Turner dressed as Isabella and her husband, Joe Jonas, portrayed Paolo from the staple scene in the movie where they sing “What Dreams Are Made Of”. This costume idea is truly what dreams are made of.

Maya Jama the Skeleton Queen

Maya Jama is a British television presenter, most recently presenting on Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star. She must have been feeling inspired by all the incredible makeup looks on the show, because one Halloween, she brought us this getup.

Twitter // @MayaJama

She dressed up as a “skeleton queen,” and she slayed the look. We aren’t sure many people actually look good in various shades of silver, but Maya definitely does, and her skeleton makeup is on point.

Cole Sprouse as Milo Thatch

Disney is well-known for the slew of fantastic animated movies that the company put out in the ‘90s and early 2000s. However, some are more famous than others, and the less well-known films have become cult classics. Atlantis: The Lost Empire is a great example.

Twitter // @colesprouse

Cole Sprouse pulled this Milo Thatch costume off so well that it set fans begging Disney to make a live-action version of the film and to cast him as the lead. The real question is whether he’d actually be up to taking on the role.

Iggy Azalea as Cruella de Vil

Cruella de Vil may be evil, but her style is on point, especially in the film in which she’s portrayed by Emma Stone. So, it’s not surprising that people would try and emulate her for Halloween, including celebrities.

Getty Images // Photo by Gareth Cattermole

Rapper Iggy Azalea went all out here — making her skin paler, wearing the iconic red lipstick, and even walking around with an actual dalmatian. At least she isn’t actually wearing a dalmatian fur coat, like her animated counterpart wanted to.

Padma Lakshmi as the Black Swan

Anyone who’s a big fan of Top Chef will know who Padma Lakshmi is. She’s the current host and a judge on the show, and has had a slew of other successful activities like modeling, being a creator and producer of her own show, and even a little bit of acting.

Twitter // @PadmaLakshmi

We don’t know what inspired her to dress up as the Black Swan, but she looks great. It’s a costume that most people will recognize, yet it’s not overdone.

Mariah Carey as ‘80s Rocker

Everyone is familiar with the era of ‘80s hair bands. Their long, voluminous hair and music style are very memorable. It’s also a fairly easy Halloween costume to pull off, for both everyday people and celebrities.

Twitter // @MariahCarey

The difference is that most people probably can’t carry around a real electric guitar, but Mariah Carey isn’t most people. Her outfit rocks (literally), her makeup is gorgeous, and we kind of wish she went on stage looking like this.

Kim Kardashian as Cher

Cher is an absolute queen in the pop world. She started making music in the ‘60s, yet to this day, everyone knows her name and iconic long, sleek hair. That means celebrities and non-famous people alike emulate her for Halloween.

Instagram // @kimkardashian

Kim Kardashian did just that in this gorgeous gold outfit that mimics what Cher wore to the 1974 Academy Awards, and she looks just as beautiful as Cher did. Gold is a great color on her.

Zoë Kravitz’s Vampire in Pajamas

As much as dressing up for Halloween can be fun, sometimes you just want to go for something comfortable. That’s clearly what Zoë Kravitz, actress, and daughter of singer Lenny Kravitz, decided to do one Halloween.

Pinterest // @sedonabaldwinuk

She created a “vampire in pajamas” look, which is not only creative but also looks super cozy. The towel wrap means her head is warm, the robe looks nice and soft, and she’s even got comfy shoes on. We bet no one else had the same costume that day.

Nicky Hilton as Her Sister

It’s impossible to have lived through the early 2000s and not know Paris Hilton. She was an influencer and socialite before influencers were a thing, and her antics with other famous people like Kim Kardashian and Nicole Richie were constantly in the media.

Instagram // @nickyhilton

We love that her sister Nicky decided to pay tribute to one of her sister’s 2000s looks with this Halloween costume. Sparkles were all the rage at that time, and every single item here is decked out in sparkles.

Bella Hadid as Lydia Deetz

Cult classics are movies that have gained a cult-like fanbase who adore the movie and characters and can often be found dressing up as the characters and reenacting the film or quoting every line. Beetlejuice is a perfect example of a cult classic.

GC Images // Photo by Gilbert Carrasquillo

Who knew that Bella Hadid was a fan?! She looks stunning dressed as the character Lydia, and her boyfriend at the time, The Weeknd, was dressed as Beetlejuice. We hope they danced to “Day-O!”

Nina Dobrev as Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish has changed her appearance a lot throughout the last few years, but when she first started out, it was hard not to recognize her due to how unique her look was. She embraced baggy, comfy clothes, and had neon green roots with black ends.

Twitter // @MTVLA

Actress Nina Dobrev combined Billie’s recognizable hair color with the black tears from Billie’s “When the Party’s Over” music video. It’s an intense look, but who Dobrev is dressed as is unmistakable.

Jessica White, Nile Queen

Jessica White is best known for being an American Victoria’s Secret model, but she’s also worked for makeup brands Maybelline and CoverGirl. She’s absolutely stunning, and she went a very unique route for this Halloween costume.

FilmMagic // Photo by D Dipasupil

We can’t take our eyes off of her in this “Queen of the Nile” costume. Maybe it’s the snake. Perhaps it’s the piercing eyes. It could be the beautiful curls. Whatever it is, we can’t wait to try and copy the look next Halloween, sans the live snake.

Emily Ratajkowski as Marge Simpson

The Simpsons is the longest-running TV show of all time, as well as the longest-running scripted American show. It’s been on since 1989, and it’s still bringing people joy to this day. Dressing up as its characters is a bit difficult, however.

WireImage // Photo by Andrew Toth

The yellow skin can not only be difficult to apply, but difficult to pull off, because few people actually look good in yellow. But then model Emily Ratajkowski came along. That girl could wear a potato sack and still look great!

Rocker and His Roadie

American actress and model Cindy Crawford was married to Richard Gere very briefly before ending up with Rande Gerber. They married in 1998 and are still together to this day, pulling off loads of couple Halloween costumes.

Getty Images // Photo by Amy Graves

In this case, they dressed up as a rockstar and a roadie. Roadies are people who tour with the band and help to set up equipment, but they sometimes gain seedier reputations, which is fitting since these two are married.

Leona Lewis as a Gold Statue

Leona Lewis is a British singer who rose to fame thanks to the British competition show The X Factor. She won in 2006 and quickly gained popularity, with every young girl able to belt out the lyrics to “Bleeding Love”.

GC Images // Photo by BG001 // Bauer-Griffin

We love this gold statue costume. It’s unique and it’s easy to do since she probably already owned all the individual pieces. All she needed was some help with the body paint. How easy is it to get ahold of gold body paint?

Chanel Iman as a Mummy

Chanel Iman is best known for her work as a Victoria’s Secret Angel. She also recently got married to New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard in a beautiful wedding. It looks like she brings beauty to everything she does.

Facebook // Chanel Iman Daily

She’s not simply a toilet paper Halloween mummy — she’s in a beautiful three-piece costume with some really creepy contact lenses to top it off. We like to see people put a spin on basic costumes like mummies and witches.

Martha Stewart as Fairy Godmother

Martha Stewart is one of those unfortunate celebrities who has seen rises and falls throughout her career. But, regardless of other people’s opinions of her, she’s definitely seen a lot of success when it comes to recipes and DIY crafts.

Getty Images // Photo by Frederick M. Brown

Let her spruce up your relationship with food as your recipe fairy godmother. At least that’s what we like to think she’s dressed as here. She shows that you don’t need to be revealing to have a great costume (although there’s no problem with women who like revealing!).

Zendaya as ‘90s Aaliyah

Aaliyah left this world too soon, but her looks and her music continue to influence people. Some call her the princess of R&B, and anyone who’s familiar with her would recognize her love for Tommy Hilfiger.

FilmMagic // Photo by Paul Archuleta

Zendaya was apparently going to portray her in a biopic and dropped out, but she still chose to pay homage to the artist with this on-point Halloween costume. She even collaborated with the brand afterward. Maybe this look led to the collab.

Heidi Klum as Betty Boop

Betty Boop is one of those characters where few people have probably actually seen the cartoons, yet just about everyone recognizes her. She’s a caricature of Jazz Age flappers, and she’s on bags and sunglasses cases everywhere.

Facebook // Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum channeled her look one Halloween at one of her famous costume parties. Her makeup is a bit creepy, but it definitely fits Betty Boop’s over-the-top look. The red dress is also a dead giveaway as to her character.

Naomi Campbell’s No-Costume Costume

Sometimes, we just can’t be bothered to go through the effort of finding a Halloween costume or don’t want to spend the money to put it together. When that happens, just put on something slightly unusual, like Naomi Campbell.

ImageDirect // Photo by Evan Agostini

She’s got a pretty dress, a sparkly necklace, and a mask covered in gemstones. Since you wouldn’t see someone strolling down the street like this on a normal day, we think it counts as a non-costume costume. Genius!

Rie Rasmussen the Space Warrior

Rie Rasmussen may be a name you don’t recognize, but she’s a famous actress from Denmark — who’s also a model, photographer, writer, and even film director. She also doesn’t settle for a normal Halloween costume.

Getty Images // Photo by Evan Agostini

She transformed into a “space warrior” with a shiny silver dress and some sleek glasses. We’re not sure how well she’d defend the planet dressed like this, but we like the look all the same. Creativity always pays off.

Lil Nas X as a Vampire

Lil Nas X is someone who, like Elton John, never shies away from dressing up and being 100% authentic at all times. It’s something that we all appreciate about him. He has tons of iconic Halloween looks, like this vampire makeup.

Instagram // @revwutruth

The use of some subtle prosthetics over his eyebrows and on his ears, red contact lenses, and silver fangs creates an approach to a vampire look that we’ve never seen before. It’s much better than those sparkly guys from Twilight.

Harry Styles as Dorothy

This is the second time Harry Styles has appeared on this list, and it’s for good reason. Something we love about Harry Styles is that he isn’t afraid to gender bend when it comes to fashion, and this costume is a perfect example.

Instagram // @stylesfanc

Never seen a male Dorothy before? Neither have we, but he absolutely rocks it, down to the ruby red slippers. We would happily follow the yellow brick road with this guy any day of the week.

Red Lisa, Green Lisa

Most of us played Red Light, Green Light on the playground as kids. Someone turns away and says, “Red light!” You move as quickly as you can, and you stop when they face you and say, “Green light!”

Instagram // @jisooyaachu

But, then the TV series Squid Game took a much more sinister approach to the game. Lisa from BLACKPINK dressed up as the terrifying doll, and while she nailed the look, we’d be scared to have her look at us dressed like that.

Halsey the Corpse Bride

Tim Burton is a king of animation, especially movies that have become Halloween classics — like The Nightmare Before Christmas, Frankenweenie, or The Corpse Bride. This means that a lot of his characters have become popular costumes.

Instagram // @iamhalsey

Singer Halsey dressed up as Emily from The Corpse Bride and absolutely nailed the makeup. The contouring and extensions to the eyes are so detailed. It almost makes us feel like we’re inside of a Tim Burton movie ourselves.

Justin Bieber as Woody

The Toy Story film franchise was a major part of many people’s childhoods. They had the perfect balance of humor and drama and are one of the few franchises where the second film is just as good as the first.

Instagram // @justinbieber

While we’re sad that Justin Bieber opted not to wear Woody’s iconic cowboy hat, he still looks great in this costume. The only thing that would make it better is a video of him saying, “Reach for the stars!”

Hailey Bieber as Britney Spears

While both Justin and Hailey Bieber have had nostalgic Halloween costumes, Justin’s was a nod to the films many of us watched as kids, while Hailey’s is a nod to the singers who impacted our lives.

Instagram // @justinbieber

Anyone would recognize this look from the “…Baby One More Time” music video from Britney Spears. We actually think she looks a lot like younger Britney in this photo, and every piece of the outfit is perfection.

Ariana Grande as Miss Creature

Everyone looks at Ariana Grande and sees pretty, so people probably expect her to go for cutesy Halloween costumes. They couldn’t be further from reality. In 2019, she spent five hours getting Twilight Zone-inspired prosthetic makeup done.

Instagram // @arianagrande

Then, she outdid herself with this costume. She paid tribute to the Creature From the Black Lagoon sci-fi horror film. We’ve never seen a better-looking amphibious humanoid. Whoever her makeup artists were are amazing at their jobs.

Sabrina Carpenter as Lola Step

Lindsay Lohan absolutely dominated teen films in the early 2000s. Between Freaky Friday, Mean Girls, and Life Size, it was harder to not see her on your screen. A less well-known but still beloved film was Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen.

Twitter // @SabrinaAnnLynn

Lohan played Lola Step, a melodramatic artsy teen with big dreams and a unique fashion sense. Actress and singer-songwriter Sabrina Carpenter copied Lola’s look with startling accuracy. We wonder if she nailed Lola’s attitude, too.

Storm Reid as the Dark Angel

Storm Reid is an American actress who has had great success, starring in films like A Wrinkle in Time and When They See Us — as well as the TV show Euphoria — which has seen an explosion of success.

Instagram // @stormreid

Not only is she a versatile actress, but she also kills it with amazing Halloween costumes. This “dark angel” costume was captioned “I’m 99% angel, but oh that 1%.” That 1% inspired this incredible costume and we’re here for it.

Tana Baskins and Jake Exotic

The pandemic brought a lot of unexpected things — including a worldwide months-long lockdown, the boom of online games, and millions of people tuning into Tiger King on Netflix. The show became something of a cultural phenomenon.

Twitter // @tanamongeau

Tana Mongeau and Jake Paul dressed up as Carol Baskins and Joe Exotic, the main two names in the show who were at odds with one another. We’re guessing that the dog is acting in lieu of a tiger, here.

Naomi Campbell as Can-Can Dancer

Naomi Campbell makes the list again thanks to her high volume of iconic looks. The can-can was a really high-energy dance that was popular in the late 1800s. Everyone knows it for the big, flowy skirts and the leg kicks.

WireImage // Photo by Tom Wargacki

Campbell channeled can-can dancers in this particular Halloween costume, from her hairstyle down to the tights and boots with the kitten heel. Hopefully, she even learned the dance and showed it off at the party.

Bretman Rock as Edna Mode

Bretman Rock is a Filipino influencer who rose to fame in 2015 when one of his contouring makeup videos went viral. He’s known for having a sense of humor, which is obvious in this costume as Edna Mode from The Incredibles.

Instagram // @bretmanrock

Don’t worry about the baby — it’s his nephew, and he was perfectly fine playing Jack-Jack. Edna Mode is probably the best part of the movie, so we love that he channeled her this Halloween.

Kevin Hart as Dwayne Johnson

Kevin Hart and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson have been friends for years and have a very humorous relationship. Everyone knows this iconic photo of The Rock in a black turtleneck and fanny pack, posing confidently.

Instagram // @kevinhart4real

Kevin Hart decided to copy the pose and look for Halloween one year, and he did a pretty good job. Maybe he should have shaved, but otherwise, his attention to detail is impeccable. As a comedian, all of Hart’s friends can only expect to be made fun of at some point.

Kardashian Family as The Flintstones

Say what you want about Kim Kardashian and her sisters and mother, but she’s never afraid to try new looks and think outside of the box. Sometimes she goes for more classic styles, though, and we love her classic family Halloween costume.

Twitter // @KimKardashian

You really can’t go wrong with the Flintstones family. Apparently, one of her kids was scared by the dinosaur and couldn’t comprehend that it was dad in there, which just makes the memories of this Halloween even cuter.

Lizzo as Marge Simpson

Clearly, Lizzo is a fan of The Simpsons, as the singer dressed up as Marge Simpson for Halloween. This was one of many costumes and, arguably, the best-received.

Instagram // @lizzobeeating

After getting backlash for her two previous costumes (one of which depicted a woman in an unhealthy relationship, another in which she depicted a minor) Lizzo seems to have found the one that fans can enjoy without cringing. Hopefully, her other costumes will be on par with this, as Lizzo has teased fans that there’s more to come.

Jaden Smith as Harry Potter

Jaden Smith dressed up as Harry Potter for Halloween and posed for a picture in front of a Hogwarts-esque background. Interestingly, Jaden has rapped about Harry Potter in the past. Although to be fair, the lyrics make it seem as if Smith was referring to Daniel Radcliffe who played Harry Potter.

Twitter // @jaden

“Huh, cheetah prints on the pants / Expelliarmus, Me and Harry Potter in the Benz.” Or perhaps he just meant that he’s actually friends with the fictional character?

Rebel Wilson as The Shining Twins

Rebel Wilson and her girlfriend Ramona Agruma found a very cute way to hold hands without ruining their costumes. The couple dressed up as the creepy twins from the 1980 horror movie The Shining!

Instagram // @ramonaagruma

Rebel posted some Halloween photos on her Instagram profile in which she and Ramona appear to be on a set that looks exactly like the hotel in The Shining – including the famous orange-patterned carpet.

Heidi Klum as a Worm

Heidi Klum has always been vocal about her love for Halloween and her costumes prove it! The model admits to planning her costumes a full year in advance, as she often starts to work on them the day after Halloween.

Getty Images // Photo by Taylor Hill

In 2022, Heidi dressed up as a worm and fans agree that – as usual – she won the holiday. The general consensus on the internet was joyful at the fact that a conventionally attractive woman was “uglying down” for the sake of enjoying Halloween.

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly as Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly are a self-proclaimed “it” couple, so they honored a known “it” couple who came before them. The pair dressed up as Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee for Halloween.

Getty Images for Casamigos // Photo by Kevin Mazur

MGK showed his dedication to the costume by dyeing his usually blonde hair black. Meanwhile, Megan wore a blonde wig rather than dyeing her dark tresses. It remains to be seen what the real Pamela and Tommy thought of this costume…

Diddy as The Joker

Diddy aka Sean Combs dressed up as Heath Ledger’s version of The Joker for Halloween. He even managed to do The Joker’s laugh! The rapper took to social media to post a photo of his costume, along with the caption, “It’s not about the money, It’s about sending the message!! EVERYTHING BURNS!!!”

Instagram // @urbannewsofficial

Diddy’s costume was so perfect that fans are demanding he is given the opportunity to audition to play The Joker in future movies. Chances are that he’d do a better job than Jared Leto did…

Kim Kardashian as Mystique

Was Kim Kardashian’s Mystique costume a subtle nudge for an audition? The reality star has once said that she’d be interested in acting if “something fun came about”, and she specified Marvel movies as the type of films she’d like to be in.

Twitter // @KimKardashian

Unfortunately, a ploy for a movie role or not, Kim wore this costume to the wrong event. She thought that Tracee Ellis Ross’s birthday party was a costumed party, but she wore this getup to the formal (non-costume) celebration.

Kendall Jenner as a Cucumber Slice

Kendall Jenner proved that she can laugh at herself when she dressed up as a slice of cucumber, in a direct reference to a clip of her that went viral.

Twitter // @PopCrave

The moment in question was in an episode of The Kardashians in which Kendall attempted to slice a cucumber but, apparently, didn’t know how. She ended up needing help from one of the family’s private chefs. Clearly, the reality star got the last laugh with this costume!

Joe Jonas – Flo From Progressive

We all know and love Flo from Progressive, as many shamelessly switched over to the company as soon as Flo became the mascot. Joe Jonas seems to be one of Flo’s fans, as he dressed up as her for Halloween.

Twitter // @PopCrave

Joe posted a photo of his costume on Instagram with the caption, “Go with the Flo.” While it’s certainly not the most convincing costume we’ve ever seen, we have to give Joe credit for the unique idea – and the nostalgia it ensues.

Pink as Raggedy Ann

Pink dressed up as the beloved children’s book character Raggedy Ann. So far, she’s only posted solo photos but we sincerely hope that her husband, Carey Hart, dressed as Raggedy Andy.

Instagram // @pink

Either way, Pink’s attention to detail was clear as she wore Raggedy Ann’s glasses around her neck, the character’s exact dress, and a red yarn wig, and carried the doll around in her hand. Fans seemed to agree that the singer looked exactly like the classic Raggedy Ann!

Cole Sprouse as Cole and Dylan Sprouse

Cole and Dylan Sprouse are twins who are most famous for their roles as Ross’s son Ben in Friends and Zack and Cody in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

Instagram // @colesprouse

After taking a break from acting for several years, Cole is back in the mainstream media while Dylan does mostly independent and short films. Given that Dylan isn’t in the public eye as much as Cole is, Cole dressed up as both of them for Halloween.

Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest as Billie Eilish and Harry Styles

Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest decided to dress up as the younger generation’s icons – Billie Eilish and Harry Styles. We have to admit that Ryan’s costume is a bit difficult to make out, while Kelly is clearly Billie Eilish in this outfit.

Twitter // @BuzzingPop

That being said, Kelly did have the far easier task of simply wearing an oversized T-shirt and a green and black wig – those two things alone would make it clear what her costume is.

Rebel Wilson – Barbie

Rebel Wilson donned several costumes in 2022, and one of them was a Barbie costume – complete with the box the doll comes in. Rebel had several friends join her, dressed as various versions of Barbie, as well as one Ken.

Instagram // @rebelwilson

The actress posted this photo on her Instagram with the caption, “Come on Barbies let’s go party! Happy Halloween!” Actress, Simu Liu, commented on Rebel’s post with, ”A A A YEA.” Needless to say, the rest of the comments followed along the same lines.

Halle Bailey as Avatar

Halle Bailey dressed up as an Avatar from the movie Avatar for Halloween. The actress admitted that she “always wanted to be an Avatar.” Adorably, Avatar’s official Twitter account reassured Halle “[W]e’re happy to have you as part of our world.”

Twitter // @cxhonline

For those who missed the reference, Halle plays Ariel in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid in which she sings “Part of Your World.”

Trevor Noah as The Weeknd

Trevor Noah dressed up as fellow celebrity The Weeknd for Halloween, during which he called himself The Weekday. However, it turns out that his costume was a little bit too convincing…

Facebook // Trevor Noah

Trevor says that a fan asked to get a selfie with him while he was in costume, and refused to believe that he wasn’t actually The Weeknd. Furthermore, there are rumors that a newspaper meant to post a photo of The Weeknd but accidentally posted one of Trevor Noah in costume instead.

Halsey as Eleven

Netflix has put out a lot of great series over the last few years, and one of the most popular as well as best is Stranger Things. It’s one of those shows that has a massive following, and Halsey is one such fan.

Twitter // @halsey

Eleven as a Halloween costume may not seem that difficult, and it isn’t, but it’s the fact that Halsey looks so much like Millie Bobby Brown here that gets us. Maybe it’s just really good makeup, or maybe it’s true similarities.

Kristen Bell as Queen Elsa

Let’s face it — most people are probably sick of Frozen by now. We doubt anyone is sicker of it than Kristen Bell, though, since she not only starred in it but also has young kids who probably like to listen to the soundtrack.

Instagram // @kristenanniebell

The funniest part of this Halloween costume is that Kristen Bell voices Anna in the film, Elsa’s sister, so she isn’t even getting to dress up as her own character. It seems kind of messed up.

Ryan Seacrest as Cheeseburger Katy

Taylor Swift loves to go all out on her music videos, and the video for “You Need to Calm Down” was no exception. At one point, a French fry Taylor can be seen embracing and befriending a cheeseburger Katy Perry.

Twitter // @katydailybrasil

Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa decided to recreate this iconic, albeit weird scene from the music video, as can be seen in the background. We love that Ryan even donned an orange wig, which really completed the look.

Queen Chrissy and Prince John

The Queen of England, may she rest in peace, was known and loved by many. The British royal family had a following all around the world, and it seems that Chrissy Teigen and John Legend may have been fans as well.

Instagram // @johnlegend

It’s great that Teigen and Legend dressed up as the former queen and king, yet kept things classy. Chrissy even made sure to add a brooch, which the queen was well-known for wearing.

Lizzo as Ursula

Disney has spent the last few years making live-action versions of all of its iconic animated films, and The Little Mermaid is no exception. It will be receiving a live-action version in 2023, and Lizzo auditioned to be Ursula.

Twitter // @lizzo

She didn’t get the role, unfortunately — and this isn’t technically a Halloween look — but it’s amazing costume inspiration. We especially love her makeup. Lizzo managed to make Ursula gorgeous and we kind of wish she had gotten the part in the end.
