They have been inspirations to millions and yet, many are nowhere to be found these days. The 70s was a decade full of colorful personalities that put their unique stamp on pop culture. Where are your favorite 70s stars now?

Turning 60 in a just day, Janet Lawler was desperate for a change. She traveled from her hometown in Boise all the way to NYC to test her luck by joining a sea of women who were also begging at the Today Show Plaza for a makeover.

As Janet prepared to embark on the 7th decade of her life, she dreamed of embodying a new look that would make her feel young and thriving once again. She was lucky enough to be discovered by Ambush Makeover's celebrity stylist, Louis Licari, who let her announce on national TV, "I'm turning 60 tomorrow, and I just know I need a makeover. I've been looking like this for, you know, 40 years and it's time. It's just time for things to change. Help me."

Janet told stylists that as she ages, she experiences more and more difficulty styling her hair. The Idahoan contestant wanted a practical hairdo that would make her feel both confident and comfortable. As she stood outside the Today Show Plaza, Janet waved around a sloppy-looking sign that read, 'I'm turning 60 tomorrow'. Although her poster was written in disproportionate, black sharpy-letters, Janet was confident that her already-unappealing look and was enough to secure her a place on the show and she was right.

Determined to get her over-due makeover, Janet bopped around desperately at the Today Show Plaza, yelling and begging, hoping to be noticed. She was escorted by her faithful posse, which included her sister and two nieces, Bobbi and Megan. Supporting her cause, they joined in by waving their hands in the air and cheering until their voices went sore. Their excitement did the trick because Janet was soon offered an Ambush Makeover. It was a dream come true.
