To some, the beauty industry these days is oversaturated with makeup brands and items that are somewhat repetitive, and let’s not mention, expensive. Many of these products are hyped up so much that they are only good quality because of the name or because someone said they were. In actuality, the products might be overrated. Here are five products that are considered unsatisfactory.
Mascara by Too Faced
Reportedly the “number one best-selling prestige mascara in the U.S.” if you look at Sephora’s website. However, the mascara is claimed to clump, flake under your eyes, and smear.
Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits
Kylie is said to have mixed feelings about her lip kits. Some claim that they are too-drying while others like the matte liquid lipsticks. They come with a lip pencil and lipstick for a reasonable price. However, the hype behind Kylie Jenner is also large, which is most likely what the hype around her makeup products is about.
“Naked” Eyeshadow Palettes by Urban Decay
Not only is this palette on the pricier side, but the shimmers don’t shimmer enough. The mattes are often too hard to blend with other shades, which can give you a harsh look in the end.. .
“Lock It” Foundation by Kat Von D
As a product that claims to provide full coverage, it lives up to it. However, it is not all good. Because it has full coverage, it is super thick and heavy. The “Lock It” foundation is also claimed to be sticky, and it can leave a patchy look after it is applied.
Milk Makeup Highlighter
Milk Makeup often takes a more innovative approach with its products. While the highlighter is meant to stand out, this one doesn’t necessarily stand out in the right way. It doesn’t blend easily, which can leave a harsh line. They claim it is a universal shade, but many with light to medium skin tones have a hard time using it because it is so dark.
